PHOTOS: Walk Through The Whirling Tiger's Holiday Pop-Up

When the Butchertown bar/performance venue The Whirling Tiger (1335 Story Ave.) closed suddenly in September, it was a dismaying shock to Louisville's performing arts community. But now, thankfully, the venue is back, and it's open for the season as Snowflakes, a Holiday-themed pop-up. Snowflakes is open from 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Mark Evans, one of the venue's new co-owners, told LEO that Snowflakes will add even more decor every day between now and Christmas, which includes expanding into a back room.

Though The Whirling Tiger won't officially reopen as a performance venue until January, its first show will be "Santa is Real," a benefit concert for the Louisville Folk School, this Saturday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m.
