[Photos] Louisville's Holi Gin hosts Festival To Commemorate The Indian Festival Of Colors, AKA Holi.

On Saturday, April 1, local gin makers Holi Gin (1110 Wilson Ave.) hosted the Louisville Holi Festival at their distillery. The Holi festival, also known as the Festival of Colors, commemorates the divine love between Hindu gods Krishna and Radha, the triumph of good over evil, and also the heralding of Spring. The official observation happened in March.

The festival is typically celebrated with color powders being tossed into the air, loaded in water guns, and aimed at others in a street fair environment. The festival also consists of food, music, and other events.

The gin company hosted Holi with food trucks, arts and crafts, music provided by DJey Shrek Sharma, and, of course, lots of powder throwing. There was even a visit from the new Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg.

Holi Gin is a Louisville brand adding chai spices to classic gin botanicals.
