The multidisciplinary performance troupe Va Va Vixens returns to the stage with their new show “Va Va VIBE.” The variety show will feature singers, dancers, aerialists, striptease and comedy over two consecutive weekends in June at Art Sanctuary (1433 S. Shelby St.). The risqué show is recommended for audiences 18 and older.

Manager and producer Lisa Frye describes Va Va Vixens as “a captivating cast of beautifully talented performers of all shimmies!” The program of neo-classic burlesque, daring — and sometimes, actually dangerous — circus performances, large-scale choreographed dance routines, and bawdy comedy will “bring the mirth and merriment of good old-fashioned ‘Voix de Ville’ like no other!”

More than 20 Vixens will take the stage for “Va Va VIBE,” including dancers Black Genie, Joshua Marcus, Lany Stardust, and Sweet Nightmare; guitarist Jet Piston; vocalists Sirena Sapphire and Smooth T; burlesque performers Lola Dee Licious and Venus Pearle; aerialists Fibonacci Sequins, Queerella, and Kara Luanne; acrobat and flow artist Cooter Brown; and drag queen Salem Vytch Tryells, among others.

Va Va Vixens has been producing events for more than 16 years. Many of the performers have been in the troupe for more than 10 years. But “Va Va VIBE” will feature new performances. The inspiration for the music and the choreography is a mélange of retro-futurism and surrealism.

The show is also a celebration of summertime, decorated with bright colors to enhance the energy and sexiness of each performance. “Va Va VIBE” will feature a mermaid, an enormous fish, a flamingo and shrimp, as well as robot silks, a car wash, a magic man and more than one surprise. “It’s ridiculous!” Frye said.

A portion of the proceeds of ticket sales will support Art Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts collective that supports local visual, literary, and performing arts.
