The Louisville Youth Group Is Hosting A Leadership Summit

The Louisville Youth Group is blooming with activities this spring. First join LYG for their Youth Leadership Summit being held on April 23, beginning at 11 a.m. This free virtual event will be a great opportunity for young LGBTQIA+ students to meet community leaders and learn important skills about leadership, power building and using their voices for effective change and justice. Register here at the LYG Eventbrite link.

The summit is open to anyone interested in joining but registration in advance is required.

LYG is being joined by the Just Fund Kentucky in presenting the Youth Leadership Summit event.

There will be representatives of LGBTQ+ groups from colleges and universities, community and advocacy organizations.

From the LYG Instagram:

"Graduating high school is a big step in every young person's life, a lot of things change very quickly and it feels like every decision has no right answer. It can be a nerve-wracking time for even the most well-rounded kids. On top of the normal stresses of graduation, LGBTQ+ young folks also have to worry about acceptance and being themselves in every new space they enter.

LYG's goal at this summit is to ease the extra burden LGBTQ+ youth carry by introducing them to an array of Queer adults who have traveled and traversed similar paths, and now work to make the path easier for all future generations.

This event is free and open to all youth interested, and feel free to share with any youth that may find this summit helpful further than just the Louisville area."

In addition to the Leadership Summit, LYG will be hosting a spring fundraiser. Their Pasta Dinner and Community Showcase will happen on April 29. Folks will have a chance to eat wonderful food, meet the LYG community and have amazing seats to see local performers. There will even be the chance to win prizes in the raffle. All of this to support the Louisville Youth Group and the great work they do in keeping young LGBTQ+ kids safe. This event will have both virtual and in-person attendance options, to meet you wherever you are most comfortable!
