Danville, Kentucky is often overlooked for other scenic spots across the state, including places like London, with its scenic lakes, hiking trails and more, and Bowling Green, home of one of the most interesting fast track spots in America with karts and muscle cars to drive along its long tracks.
But what you won’t find in these places is the same level of rich history that Danville has, or its most recent Fall Festival, hosted by the Art Center of the Bluegrass, which highlights amazing works by local Kentuckians across the Commonwealth. See what all you can do while you stay in Danville, Kentucky this weekend.
What to do
Fall Festival
The Art Center of the Bluegrass is celebrating the fall season with games, crafts and free music at this year’s Fall Festival.
During the event, there will be pumpkin painting, clay play in the ceramics studio and an interactive fall tree mural with live painting plus pottery demonstrations throughout the entire day on Oct. 19 from 2 to 7 p.m.
You can find the Fall Festival at 401 W. Main Street in Danville during your weekend getaway.

If you’re a fan of bourbon, Danville has you more than covered.
With many distilleries across the city, you have your pick of the litter with where to tour. The Wilderness Trail Distillery has resided in Danville’s west side for over a decade, and continues to make delicious drinks that you won’t want to miss.
And for newer experiences, you can head to the Luca Mariano Distillery. The city’s newest distillery is actually still in development, but allows for tourists to see what’s in store anyway.
Where to stay
The Bottom House Bed & Breakfast is a pre-Civil War era home near to Merchants Row in Perryville, and is a short walk from an adorable antique shop and sweet shoppe along the river.
For history nerds, the Perryville Battlefield is also just a short ten-mile drive away, including the Constitution Square Historic Site, the Great American Dollhouse museum and the Wilderness Trail Distillery.
