Bellarmine University is expanding its cannabis education offerings to meet the growing workforce demand.
Building upon its existing six-month online Cannabis Certificate Program, Bellarmine has developed three new nine-week, totally online certificate programs focused on cannabis extraction, retail operations, and cultivation. These courses are meant to give those looking for jobs in the medical cannabis sector specific instruction.
“It’s really empowering people to have that background of information on something that is so new,” said Abigail Walsh, director of Bellarmine’s Center for Community & Professional Education.
A disagreement over Kentucky’s state-owned fiber optic network could leave thousands without internet connectivity starting this May
Offered in collaboration with Green Flower, a cannabis education company, Bellarmine’s public events seek to prepare students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the developing cannabis sector.
“Helping Kentuckians access the most up-to-date knowledge and expertise will ensure our state is well-prepared to realize the full benefits associated with cannabis,” said Dr. Mark Wiegand, the university’s provost.
Enrollment for the May cohort is currently available. For more information or to apply, visit cannabisworkforce.bellarmine.edu.
