Eric Deters invites you to Freedom Fest. | via YouTube

Self described “legal outlaw,” suspended Northern Kentucky lawyer and long-shot gubernatorial candidate Eric Deters is once again throwing Freedom Fest, an event where a bunch of far right B-list wing nuts get on stage and say far right B-list wing nut things.

It will be the second year for the event, which will take place on Sept. 10 at Deters’ farm in Morning View, Kentucky, and will feature speakers Eric Trump, Candace Owens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Corey Lewandowski and Deters. Fireworks, live music and food are also promised.

Deters, who hosts the conservative podcast The Bulldog, is often a lightning rod for eccentric news.

Most recently, he attended a $75,000 per head Donald Trump meet-and-greet fundraiser at the Kentucky Derby. Afterward, he claimed that Trump called Kentucky’s senior U.S. Sena Mitch McConnell a “scumbag.”

Through his YouTube channel, Deters has attempted to establish himself as a wildcard conservative talk show host who goes off the rails. In 2021, he filed a lawsuit against Facebook, claiming the social media giant has suppressed his posts in an attempt to stop him from gaining followers.

“I want to stick a microscope up Facebook’s corporate colon,” said Deters in one of his regular rants on his The Bulldog Show YouTube channel.

According to reporting from Cincinnati daily newspaper The Enquirer, last year’s Freedom Fest centered around rhetoric that was anti-media and anti-vaccine. The Enquirer’s reporting also said the event was attended by several Proud Boys, who the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated as a hate group. One of the group’s leaders also pleaded guilty for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
