On Sunday April 28, locals gathered for Louisville's 9th Holi Mela, The Festival of Colors. The Holi festival, also known as the Festival of Colors, commemorates the divine love between Hindu gods Krishna and Radha, the triumph of good over evil, and also the heralding of Spring.
The festival is typically celebrated with color powders being tossed into the air, loaded in water guns, and aimed at others in a street fair environment. The festival also consists of food, music, and other events.
Take a look at the colorful photos and keep an eye out next April for your chance to participate.
