All the Jousting and Jesting We Saw at the First Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire

It came to pass that on May 14, 15, 21, and 22, crowds of hundreds did gather at Birdsell Castle in Charlestown, Indiana, for the first Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire.

There was much merriment, thanks to the variety of entertainment on offer — knights who jousted, pirates who sang, jugglers who juggled, puppets who, uh, puppeted and more. Some guests were imprisoned by the Knights Templar for serious crimes (loitering, taking a photo of one of the Knights Templar, not appearing to have enough fun, etc.), but they were free to go after paying the fine of $1, which the Faire will donate to a charitable organization.

LEO spent the day at the Faire on Saturday, May 21, as a guest of the king and queen.
