This is why we cant have nice things.
After testing the waters to see if Louisville would want a Cook Out in the city last week (YES), the Southern fast food chain posted a more formal poll to Twitter yesterday.
And Louisville lost. To Tallahassee. By less than 1%.
NOOOOOO.
And before you think this is just a silly Twitter poll, Cook Out posted, We will now start looking for a location!
The responses to the news that Louisville would not soon be tasting the sweet nectar of Cheerwine on tap and Cook Outs meal-sized sides, were mixed.
Floridians were obviously elated.

Louisville was not as thrilled.

And some (including WDRB meteorologist Bryce Jones) cried foul, noting that Louisville had also performed well in surveys on Facebook and Instagram.
So yall just gonna ignore the IG poll and Facebook too? Yikes

Regardless of who won, whats evident is that Louisville wants a Cook Out.
Over 64,000 people voted in the poll, and Louisville garnered 45.4% of the vote. So, over 29,000 people (or Twitter accounts at least) are on board with the chain coming to Louisville.
LEO reached out to Cook Out to see whether the chain would still consider a location in Louisville, but we did not receive an immediate response.
If Louisville got a Cook Out, it would be a seemingly natural expansion for the chain. There are nine Cook Outs in the state but somehow none in Kentuckys largest city. The closest Cook Out is in Frankfort, which has a population of just over 28,000, compared to Louisvilles 780,000+.
There is a new Cook Out coming to Kentucky, however. In Mt. Sterling: Population 7,558.
