Lock, Stock & Smoking Barrels: Brandy Beer Festival Copper & Kings $45; 6 p.m. Alright people, this is a big weekend, so start it off right with a beer festival unlike any other. The Brandy Beer Festival at Copper & Kings will feature craft beer brewed in brandy barrels from a number of local breweries: Against the Grain, West Sixth, Falls City, Apocalypse Brew Works and many more. Of course, there will also be the usual food trucks and live music as well, making it the perfect way to start off your Halloween weekend.

SATURDAY

White Reaper / The Pass  Haymarket Whiskey Bar Free; 9 p.m. White Reaper to play their favorite hits from the ’70s, and The Pass to play their fav’s from the ’80s. To see some of the songs they picked, check out the feature we did here.

Hell House with Mix Master Mike Under the 2nd Street Bridge $22; 7 p.m. Holy shit, people. This is going to be rad. Under the 2nd Street Bridge, you will find Mix Master Mike, known for his work with Beastie Boys, spinning some sick ass beats for you to shake it to. The Benman, Titonton Duvante and DJ Shiva will also be there. And there will be an after party next door at Me Gusta. If you’re fan of old school beats and record scratching, this is going to be the event for you.
Halloween Absinthe Party Garage Bar Free; 8 p.m. As if Halloween night wasn’t trippy enough, with all of the people in the city wearing masks and costumes, Garage Bar decided to add to the madness with a little absinthe party. The green concoction was made locally at Copper and Kings, and will be served up in a variety of ways including Absinthe Frappes and a Corpse Reviver punch. There will also be live music by DJ See Tai and Black Matter.

SUNDAY

Day of the Dead Celebration
Roux Free; 2 a.m. This is for all of you out there who couldn’t party it up on Halloween because you had to take your kids out or had to work. Roux has decided to celebrate the Day of the Dead in true NOLA fashion. There will be delicious New Orleans inspired food, live music, tarot card readings, sugar skull face paintings and plenty of local Day of the Dead inspired art to buy. A perfect way to end the weekend.
