Forecastle headlines a weekend full of events, but if the large, three-day music fest isn’t your thing, here are some other recommendations.

Friday, May 27

Zerg Rush Portal at Fifteentwelve $10  |  7 p.m. Zerg Rush is back playing live shows, thankfully bringing their burning, visceral punk to the stage once again. Shark Sandwich, Terminal Axon and Nerve House open.

Casey Powell & Jordan Blase  High Horse Bar $10  |  8 p.m. Casey Powell & Jordan Blase both have versatile styles and bands, each making a type of neo-soul filtered through an impressive spectrum of genres.

Saturday, May 28

Sondre Lerche  Zanzabar 8 p.m.  |  $18 Sondre Lerche hasn’t toured the U.S. in five years, but the Norwegian folk and pop singer brings his unique style to Louisville this weekend.
