Rich Strike was facing 80-1 odds when he blasted past favorites Epicenter and Zandon in the final stretch of the 148th Kentucky Derby.
Until yesterday, Rich Strike wasnt even going to be in the Derby at all until Ethereal Road scratched and another horse was needed to take his place.
Only one other horse in Kentucky Derby history faced worse odds than Rich Strike: Donerail in 1913 (91-1).
The winners walked away with a $1.86 million purse. The payout for betting $2 on Rich Strike was a whopping $163.60. And we got these wonderful tweets.
