Protesters in Louisville plan to take part in a nationwide day of protests on Saturday, June 14, called “No Kings Day.” The date is the same as President Donald Trump’s birthday and a military-themed event happening in Washington, D.C.

This event is not organized by any single group. It has been shared online to peacefully express concern about overly centralized leadership and the promotion of overly assertive leadership styles in the U.S.

In Louisville, organizers are asking people to join peacefully, wear black, and carry signs to show unity.

“No Kings Day” protests will happen in other cities too, with different styles and messages. Louisville police do not plan to increase patrols but suggest people watch for possible traffic delays downtown.
