Little Penguins live in Australia and New Zealand, far away from Santa’s workshop, but we can’t help but associate them with the holiday season. And now three have hatched at the Louisville Zoo, just in time for Christmas.

These Little Penguin hatchings were actually born in October and November, but we’ll claim it as a win for the nice-list boys and girls anyway.

The floofs were born to parents Miramar and Rabbit (not actually a rabbit); Eudyptula “Tula” and Granite (not actually granite); and Clarkie and Boost (not actually a name).

The newborn penguins don’t have their own unique names yet, and they are being held off-exhibit until spring. But, Louisville Zoo staff are still excited about the additions.

“Hatchings and births are always a great time for celebration, and we are excited to welcome these new ‘little’ ambassadors this holiday season,” said Louisville Zoo Executive Director Dan Maloney in a statement.
