The $20 Art Show is back this year, with a fresh new look, a bigger venue and even more ways to support local artists. Now rebranded as the $20 Plus Art Show, this iconic event is set to take over the Kentucky Science Center on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m.
While the heart of the show remains in its $20 price tag, artists now have the flexibility to include larger, more intricate works priced above $20. The goal, according to organizers, is to keep art accessible while giving creators the freedom to showcase a broader range of their talents. So whether you’re shopping for a wallet-friendly treasure or something a little more ambitious, you’ll find it at this local art showcase event.
This year marks the first time the show will be held at the Kentucky Science Center, offering more space than ever before. Spanning two floors, the layout ensures plenty of room to browse and shop without feeling crowded.
The $20 Plus Art Show supports over 30 talented regional and local artists. Organizers say the alternative shopping event was created as a response to Black Friday to celebrate local creativity.
“This isn’t just another art market,” organizers said on Facebook. “Louisville has plenty of those, and they’re amazing—but this show is designed to be something different.”
The addition of higher-priced pieces is just one stepping stone for the yearly event. Organizers say they see this as a step toward keeping the event sustainable for artists and vibrant for attendees. Feedback from this year will shape the show’s evolution in the years to come.
