Louisvilles international airport and the local bus system announced they will no longer require masks after a federal judge ruling in Florida on Monday struck down a national mandate for people on planes and public transportation.
TARC passengers will no longer have to wear masks on the bus system, and the Muhammad Ali International Airport will no longer require masks for everyone although, in a statement, the airport advised that masks may still be required by individual airlines and for international travel.
Travelers are encouraged to check with your airlines and flight destinations regarding any face covering requirements, the statement said.
After the Florida ruling, the Transportation Security Administration announced it would no longer be enforcing the mask mandate. CNN reported that some major U.S. cities have decided to drop all mask mandates for transportation, while others plan to keep their rules in place.
