Glassworks is helping create a “green” mobile glassblowing van that is fueled by vegetable oil. It will be done by the end of the year and will park at Westport Village (formerly Camelot Shopping Center on Westport Road) one weekend a month so the public can watch the artists work. The following Louisville artists were recently awarded the Kentucky Arts Council’s Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship Awards and Professional Assistance Awards: Mitch Eckert, Gaela Erwin, Gabrielle Mayer, Mark Needham and Molly Rucks. Also, blacksmith/metalworker Craig Kaviar received a Historic Preservation Award from the Clifton Community Council.
