Home of the Innocents Children and Youth It’s child abuse prevention month, so consider supporting local efforts to raise awareness and inspire action to build safe and nurturing environments for children and families, like Home of the Innocents in their pinwheel initiative. Rennay Marshall

It’s Child Abuse Prevention Month, and Home of the Innocents planted hundreds of pinwheels with help from volunteers from PMR Properties to raise awareness and inspire action to build safe and nurturing environments for children and families.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of PMR Properties and their volunteers,” said Rennay Marshall, vice president of public relations at Home of the Innocents, in a press release. “Their commitment to our mission and their dedication to raising awareness about child abuse prevention make them a wonderful partner to have in our community.”

The pinwheel serves as a symbol of childhood hope and happiness, and while this powerful visual reminder indicates the importance of protecting children and creating conditions in which they can thrive, the critical services provided by places like Home of the Innocents improve children’s chances at the bright futures all children deserve. Residential and community programs promote healing, safety, and stability, like behavioral health services, therapeutic foster care and adoption services, supportive services for young adults experiencing homelessness, and long-term skilled nursing care for children, teens, and young adults with medical complexities. Home of the Innocents implores the community to learn the signs of child abuse and further prevention efforts.

If you suspect a child is in danger, in Kentucky, call (877)KYSAFE1 or, in Indiana, 1-800-800-5556. Learn how to get involved with Home of the Innocents and enrich the lives of children and families with hope, health, and happiness at www.homeoftheinnocents.org.
