Mardi Gras celebrations
The Old Stone Inn in Simpsonville, Ky., will host a Mardi Gras Feast on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 5-10 p.m. Expect a buffet featuring seafood chowder, chicken gumbo, chicken and sausage jambalaya, blackened fish and chicken, and a low country boil of corn on the cob, red bliss potatoes, shrimp and crawfish tails. King cake will be on tap for dessert. For more info, call 722-8200. Also, our own Café Beignet will celebrate Mardi Gras in true New Orleans fashion — sugary sweet beignets and hot chicory coffee served all day (7 a.m.-9 p.m.) on Fat Tuesday. And don’t forget our friends at Café Lou Lou — they’ll be serving jambalaya and crawfish, as well as other traditional Nawlins fixin’s all day long. Porcini’s ‘Carnevale’  banquet
Porcini Italian restaurant will host a “Carnevale” banquet, a seven-course food and wine dinner, on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and features appetizers and entrees like grilled sea bass, house-made duck sausage, grilled wild boar tenderloin and more, concluding with fresh seasonal fruit and fire-roasted nuts with imported Italian cheeses. Come Back Inn drops lunch
Beginning Feb. 25, the Come Back Inn’s Louisville location will no longer serve lunch. The new hours will be 4:30-10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The bar will remain open until midnight.
