New coffeehouse in town

Shively and PRP residents rejoice, getting good coffee won’t tip your odometer anymore. Sister Bean Coffee House celebrates its grand opening today from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at 4956 Manslick Road. Owners (and siblings) Corky Girodo and Teresa Gailor incorporated Teresa’s childhood nickname, Bean, into the new business. The Sister Bean’s Mocha comes highly recommended hot, iced or frozen. Blu to host special events

Blu Italian Mediterranean Grille, located in the Marriott Downtown, will host a Spanish-themed “Fiestas Espanola,” Jan. 25-28. Fiestas Espanola is 6-9 p.m. each night and will include Spanish music and dance by Flamenco Louisville. Spanish dishes such as calientes, tapas, paella and more will be on the menu these nights. Gumbo A Go-Go now open Sundays

Gumbo A Go-Go is now open Sundays 11 a.m.-6 p.m., and the Cajun restaurant is celebrating the new hours with a special deal for church-goers: Bring in your church program and get $1 off any entrée. And all Sunday diners, whether they attend church or not, can partake of a $10 all-you-can-eat special for Gumbo A Go-Go’s signature dishes: drunken chicken, jambalaya, gumbo, creole, etouffee and red beans and rice.
