According to an internal memo provided to us by a source at The Courier-Journal, the newspaper will discontinue publishing its Find A Home magazine at the end of next month. The magazine, one among an array of free and not-quite-free publications targeted at big advertising markets, could have been yet another casualty of fallout over the subprime mortgage crisis. Advertisers in Find A Home will be offered a new, discounted rate to push their wares in other parts of the C-J empire.
As well, another C-J source informed us last week that the advertising team at Velocity will be transferred into the newspapers ad staff, and that the weekly will be treated from a sales perspective like Find A Home and other C-J ancillaries have been.
