Families looking for interesting and engaging spring and summer activities for their children are invited to the Frazier History Museum this Saturday for a special open house featuring its seasonal camps.
The free event, slated for Saturday, February 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will allow parents and children the opportunity to meet the museum’s education team and experience the types of activities offered in camp programs. Visitors can take part in interactive games, create with Legos, and watch a live musical history performance at noon. A guided tour of the museum, showcasing exhibitions and tales incorporated into camp activities, will begin at 11:00 a.m.
“We have a long history of offering engaging camps over the past twenty years,” Senior Manager of Educational Programs Megan Schanie said in a press release. “We’re excited to continue the tradition with a few new education staff putting their own spin on a terrific mainstay of children’s programming. Come learn more on Saturday—we’d love to have you!”
The event will also involve a chance to meet Ponk, the museum’s resident axolotl, and experience hands-on activities such as a game of mancala and Lego building in the museum’s education center.
The Frazier History Museum has conducted camps for nearly two decades, giving children a unique approach to studying history via interactive storytelling, exhibits, and hands-on learning.
Families interested in attending the open house are urged to RSVP online. For further information, contact education@fraziermuseum.org or call (812) 719-0738.
