This Sunday, October 20, Bardstown Road will transform into a car-free playground as the Tom Owen CycLOUvia returns to Louisville. From 2 to 6 p.m., the road will be open exclusively for bikers, skaters, runners and walkers.
Named in honor of Tom Owen, a former District 8 Councilman and advocate for cyclists and pedestrians, the event promotes eco-friendly transportation and wellness for all.
“CycLOUvia is a celebration of our community’s commitment to sustainability, health, and togetherness,” said Mayor Craig Greenberg (D).
District 8 Councilman Ben Reno-Weber added, “Tom Owen has been a champion for livable neighborhoods and sustainable transportation, and we’re thrilled to honor his legacy.”
Bardstown Road will be closed to vehicles from Grinstead Drive to Douglass Boulevard, with police ensuring safe crossings. Organizers say local businesses and organizations are invited to join the fun, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
