Nook & Nowhere, a combined bookstore, café and bar is preparing to open later this year at 1149 S Shelby St. This 2,200-square-foot space was formerly home to Trouble Bar, which closed at the end of 2024 after five years in business.

The venture is spearheaded by Nicole Stipp and Kaitlyn Soligan-Owens, the same duo behind Trouble Bar. Their inspiration for Nook & Nowhere stemmed from the popularity of book-related events previously hosted at Trouble Bar, which attracted a community of book enthusiasts. Recognizing this interest, Stipp and Soligan-Owens decided to transform the space into a haven for readers and socializers alike.

Nook & Nowhere has said it aims to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere, featuring comfortable seating and soft lighting. The establishment will serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and a selection of cocktails, with plans to retain popular Trouble Bar favorites like the Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini. Additionally, the café will provide a range of food options to complement the drink offerings.
