Louisville residents will once again have the chance to connect with their local and state legislators through the popular Café LOUIE series, which kicks off its 2025 season this month. Designed to bridge the gap between the community and government, Café LOUIE provides a setting for open dialogue with Kentucky’s elected leaders.
A partnership between the Library Foundation, the Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL), the Leadership Louisville Center and the Friends of the Library, Café LOUIE invites citizens to share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas directly with decision-makers.
The series runs from January to March, with events held on Saturdays from 9-10 a.m. at various LFPL locations. Attendees can enjoy a free cup of Heine Brothers coffee while engaging with a rotating lineup of officials, including Kentucky State Senators, Kentucky House Representatives, Metro Council members and mayors.
This winter, Café LOUIE will also feature three of the seven newly sworn-in Louisville Metro Council members. These fresh voices on the Council bring new perspectives, making this season an especially exciting opportunity to meet and interact with them.
Café LOUIE exemplifies the spirit of community engagement, offering residents a platform to voice their concerns and suggestions. Whether it’s a local issue or a broader legislative question, this is your chance to make your voice heard.
