Change Today, Change Tomorrow—which specializes in food justice and community health—is now collecting vendor applications for the 2025 West End Farmers Market.
Applications will be open through April 30. Applications are urged from local farmers, growers, food producers, artists, and Black-led merchants in particular. Twice a month in Louisville’s California area, the market offers free fresh vegetables and locally produced goods twice a month in summer.
Taylor Ryan started Change Today, Change Tomorrow in 2019 with the intention of helping underprivileged areas in west Louisville where inhabitants have limited access to wholesome, fresh food. Currently the only farmers market running in that section of the city is the West End Farmers Market.
By means of the Kentucky Double Dollars program through the Community Farm Alliance, the market welcomes SNAP payments and helps to get fresh food more easily available to those in need.
A UK-based contributor whose identity is unknown made a recent $300,000 gift to assist in increasing the influence and reach of the market. As a result, vendors will not be charged any fees to participate this season.
“We’re building something for us, by us,” said T’Von Terry, director of the West End Farmers Market, in a news release. “This market is about cultural power, economic possibility, and self-determination—not just about food.”
Operating every other week on Saturdays from 3 to 7 p.m. at California Park, the 2025 market season is May 4 through Oct. 5.
A virtual vendor information session is set for April 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Vendors can apply online or reach out with inquiries via email at farmersmarket@change-today.org.
