The Las Gorditas taco stand rolls into the parking lot at Eastland Shopping Center (where Buechel meets Fern Creek on Bardstown Road) just about every weekend evening. There’s almost always a crowd, and it’s usually a happy mix of Latino and Anglo diners, united in shared enjoyment of really good Mexican food. (Reviewed 5/28/08; Rating: N/A)

MACCA’S FLORIDA SEAFOOD GRILL & BAR, 1315 Herr Ln., 618-2770, Macca’s holds down a prime spot in the Westport Village center. QUEEN OF SHEBA, 2804 Taylorsville Rd., 459-6301. Ethiopian restaurant Queen of Sheba offers an airy and bright atmosphere in its new home across from Bowman Field. CORBETT’S “AN AMERICAN PLACE”, 5050 Norton Healthcare Blvd., 327-5058, Housed in the 150-year-old farmhouse that was originally home to the Von Allmen dairy operation, Corbett’s “An American Place” opened in the winter, joining the ranks of the region’s top tables.
