I’m not crazy, you’re the one who’s crazy if you thought early ’80s skate punk was a fond but very distant memory. It’s not like AWK doesn’t know their approach is “old school”; they describe themselves that way in an accompanying press release. It’s just that old school is exactly what it is, with not much added to modernize their approach. But if you’re looking for some jams to kick out while reading through back issues of Thasher magazine, remembering how much you wanted to impress some girl named Debbie with your world-changing ollie, and your Circle Jerks tape broke back in ’86, well, you could do a lot worse than to give these Kentuckians a spin. And Ronald Reagan won’t come back if you do.
