Last night, Jack Harlow performed at his very first Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, the same night as he was nominated for (but lost) two Grammys.
Watch a clip of Harlow performing his verse in Industry Baby below:
(Youll notice he self-censors the verse about putting my handprint on her asscheek well, kind of.)
You can also watch Lil Nas Xs full performance here:
Technically, this was only Harlows first in-person Grammys; he was nominated for (but lost) Best Rap Performance for WHATS POPPIN last year, but the ceremony was virtual.
Sadly, Harlow lost in both categories in which he was nominated last night Best Melodic Rap Performance for his verse in “Industry Baby,” which he lost to Kanye West for Hurricane; and Album of the Year for Lil Nas Xs Montero, which they lost to We Are, by Jon Batiste.
Speaking to Laverne Cox before the awards ceremony, Harlow told Cox that he was grateful to Lil Nas X for setting up his Grammys performance. He also spoke against homophobic critics of Lil Nas X, saying, Wake the fuck up. Fucks wrong with you?
It’s ridiculous. Hes trailblazing a path that, its sad it has to be trailblazed, but I think its amazing. Hes innovating the game, and its fresh, its powerful, and its necessary, so I love it, Harlow said.
If last nights performance wasnt enough of a Harlow fix for you, hell be coming back to Louisville to headline Forecastle Festival?? on Friday, May 27.
