Legs Akimbo

An indie slacker vibe informs the music of Legs Akimbo, loose and jangly and almost completely devoid of any pretense, like a less self-aware Pavement channeling The Velvet Underground, simultaneously at their most melancholy and punk-forward. The band isn’t afraid to kick it into high gear, blistering through highs, or enduring long low periods. This is riff-heavy with lyrics that reflect the minutiae of everyday life, all without flinching from bigger bits of socio-political commentary. This is far less revolutionary than a throwback, but that’s okay — the kids are alright.
