Self-described as an electro-psych outfit, the Pleasure Boys are all in on making a big noise and having fun while doing it. You can hear that gleeful discovery throughout the album, as the band push at the bounds of what a three-piece can produce. What the trio does so well is lock into a groove and really mine it for all that its worth, which is offset somewhat by a looseness in performance. This relaxed approach manifests itself as a kind of stoner rock meets classic, pre-The Wall Pink Floyd for a sound that isnt beholden to any one thing in particular. That sense of the unexpected really enriches the album as a must listen, as it truly feels that anything goes.
