Leading off his new solo album, the title track from The Sea & Cake frontman Sam Prekop finds the guitar player inhabited by a cyborg, hard at work in a laboratory creating human skin. Inserting a needle into a human eye to administer vitreous fluid, documenting his observations and faxing in the results. Or something. “Array Wicket” is a secret agent adjusting his or her infrared glasses while an enemy robot walks by, and “Knitting Needles” resembles the tones of lasers suspended in a post-apocalyptic, atmosphere-deprived goo. Gaming programmers will flip over this, whatever this is. It sure as hell ain’t Nassau or The Fawn — dude dispensed with the marbles; he might not even be a dude anymore.
