(Fire Talk)
Soaked in swirling psychedelia the kind that bounces from hazy fuzz to brighter tones Murals latest record, Violet City Lantern, is thick and dreamy, with the power to pull the listener into a serene state, where nothing else matters, not unlike sitting on a beach 1,000 miles from anything that will ruin your day. Something I like about the album is how there is only one song over four minutes, which gives them the ability to exercise a lot of experimental ideas quickly, keeping the album lean, and never getting lost.
