Jenny O.’s five-song EP is her logging her own entry after years of collaborating with other artists, among them Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace. This self-produced set from the current member of L.A. Ladies Choir portrays her as a disarming soloist given to confessional turns (“All My Wishes”), cold recognition (“I Do I Do”) and child-like playfulness (“Won’t Let You Leave”). Home has subtle missteps: The jangly alt-country bridge in “Well OK Honey” is a clumsy detour, and Jenny’s harmonic flavors are too familiar to be called groundbreaking; but if your barometer of singer-songwriters perennially reads bittersweet, O. is a worthy option.
