I’m gonna go ahead and say it: I didn’t side-by-side these remasters with the original releases. I didn’t see the point. Mainly because these are Jesus Lizard records, man. We don’t need that. I don’t think these records are about the fidelity as much as the raw, animal power of the whole affair. You have these shredding, atonal guitars, married to the most incredible, churning grooves you’ve ever heard. Then you take the strangled yelps of David Yow … tie ‘em all up in a bag, beat it with a stick and throw it in the river. That’s The Jesus Lizard. If you don’t own one of these records, I recommend you buy them all.
