Phourist and the Photons are dropping another song for the public’s ear from their yet-to-be-titled album, slated for release early next year. In Sound The Alarm, Nick Hill’s piano flourishes are still there, now with more heavy, low-end piano chords holding them down. Stuart Wicke’s bass moves through the piano chords with a confident grit that can also be heard in Scott Boice’s relentless drumming. This pseudo-baião style, as the band describes it, along with the aural freak out in the middle, lends to the realist tone that these guys have always been able to capture, but now its slightly looser and dancier.
