Teddy Abrams leads the Louisville Orchestra The Louisville Orchestra | Louisville Tourism

This Thursday, the Louisville Orchestra will perform a free public concert in remembrance of the victims of UPS Flight 2976 and to provide a venue for community gatherings following the tragedy.

The concert gives locals a chance to come together, grieve and encourage one another. The performance is being presented as a show of support for the city, the larger community and the first responders who have been affected, according to the orchestra leaders.

“This has been an incredibly difficult time for our community, and nobody should have to go through it alone,” Mayor Greenberg said in a news release. “We’re grateful to Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra for this opportunity to honor those we’ve lost, recognize the bravery of our first responders, and mourn together as one community.”

The free concert will take place Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. Free parking will be available in the PARC Parking Garage on North Sixth Street.

Community members planning to attend are encouraged to register.
