If you were planning to travel to Tennessee to go to Bonnaroo this weekend — well, you’ll have to find different Labor Day plans. 

The festival is cancelled. But, not because of COVID, according to organizers. Instead, another disaster, Hurricane Ida is to blame. 

“While this weekend’s weather looks outstanding, currently Centerloo is waterlogged in many areas, the ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely,” said the festival in an announcement posted to social media. 

All tickets purchased through Front Gate Tickets will be refunded in “as little as 30 days,” according to organizers. 

For those desperate to see Lizzo, the Foo Fighters and Tyler, the Creator, you might have to wait until 2022, when the festival plans to resurface again. It was also cancelled in 2020 but because of COVID.

The fierce Hurricane Ida, now a tropical depression, has dumped rain on Tennessee, causing severe flooding. It’s mostly missed Louisville, meaning would-be Bonnaroo attendees should be safe to check out the Abbey Road on the River Beatles festival in Jeffersonville this weekend.
