Windsor for the Derby has floated in and out of the collective consciousness for more than a decade. They were something like the elevator music of the post-rock world: at once present and secondary. Against Love is their 10th, but I was stunned to know there’d been more than two. Quiet and contemplative, it is the kind of music you can listen to without listening to it at all. After picking over the 12 tracks, it was a struggle to remember a single song, but the lasting impression was positive. Jason McNeely’s voice is soothing but not boring. Melodies are smooth at every corner. The songs all run together in a way that is meditative, not dull.
