The big live music news moving into the weekend is the return of Poorcastle, the three-day music festival in Breslin Park that features nothing but local musicians. You should definitely go to that. It’s only $10 each day, $25 for the weekend. It’s a crash course in the Louisville music scene, and a place for discovery. But, if you’re looking for even more live music, or you and the heat don’t get along, we have three more shows to consider below.

FRIDAY, May 20

Tyler Lance Walker Gill / Pleasure Boys The Whirling Tiger $5  |  9 p.m. It’s rare to find a show with talented local musicians that’s charging $5 or less to get in. Tyler Lance Walker Gill and Pleasure Boys are celebrating the end of the $5 show with one last bash. They’ll be playing country, punk and psych rock. And there will be T-shirts.

SUNDAY, May 22

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band  Iroquois Amphitheater Tickets start at $32  |  8 p.m. For decades, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band have persevered as a steady and sharp country rock machine that continues to roll with a lot of steam.

Furious Floyd, Feral Vices The Wiggle Room  Free  |  11 p.m. Didn’t get enough live music from three days of Poorcastle? Well, then head over to the official, day-three afterparty at the Wiggle Room featuring Furious Floyd and Feral Vices. There will be exclusive drink specials for Poorcastle ticket holders.
