Louisville’s a town that loves a taco and during Taco Week, participating restaurants offer specialty tacos for $2.50. Some restaurants will offer up to three different taco options. Taco week is absolutely about the tacos but there is also a bit of fun involved. First, download the Louisville Taco Week app in Google Play or the App store. Now let the contests begin!

TUESDAY, APRIL 16

Louisville Cardinals Baseball v. Kentucky Wildcats

The in-state rivalry is back between two heavy hitters (no pun intended) as Louisville takes on the juggernaut Kentucky baseball program. The rivals had to postpone its last matchup on April 3 after the game was rained out. The Cardinals return back home to play in (hopefully) clear weather against a Kentucky program that has run through the SEC with relative ease.

THURSDAY, APRIL 18

Eat, Drink, Germantown

The Greater Germantown Business Association presents the inaugural Eat Drink Germantown culinary showcase celebrating the best of Germantown's culinary scene and business community. Enjoy food samples from multiple Germantown-area vendors, including Canary Club, Awry Brewing, Merryweather, Monnik Beer Co., Bean Coffee, Perso, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to indulge in a selection of Germantown-made beers and cocktails. The event will also feature "The Germantown" cocktail competition presented by Campari. Beginning April 8th, participating vendors will create unique cocktails that customers can vote on as best representing the Germantown neighborhood. The winning cocktail will be announced at Eat Drink Germantown on April 18th and served to attendees.

Kentucky Derby Festival They’re Off! Luncheon

Don’t miss the official corporate kick-off of the 2024 Kentucky Derby Festival. This year, more than 1,500 Derby Festival supporters and patrons are expected to be in attendance. The community tradition has featured notable speakers including Jay Bilas, Kirk Herbstreit, Erin Andrews, Terry Bradshaw, and Robin Roberts. Your ticket includes cash bar reception prior to doors opening, reserved seating with lunch, and goodie bag with event pin.

Alice in Derbyland!

Drag Daddy Productions brings "Alice in Derbyland!" to the stage at Art Sanctuary April 19 and 21. Now in its fourth year, this queer re-imagining of Lewis Carroll’s surreal tale is written and directed by Tony Lewis Executive Producer of Drag Daddy Productions. With the help of some drag make-up and wig styling, the story of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is transformed into a Derby-themed extravaganza.

The Web Has No Weaver is designing their third collection and their planned fashion show follows an inventive path down the runway. Their "upcycled couture for the freaky, flashy, tacky, and trashy" will be on display in an exhibition and fashion show in April. Planning a seasonal show is standard practice for any fashion designer, but this "Arachnephilia"  is different.

Thunder Over Louisville
Derby season wouldn’t be the same without its kickoff, the gigantic fireworks spectacle that is Thunder Over Louisville, which will return for its 34th year. In honor of the 150th Kentucky Derby, the 2024 theme for Thunder Over Louisville is "Celebrating Derby 150.”
