Wawa is opening its first stores in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana this spring and summer. As part of the expansion, Wawa is continuing its support of the Special Olympics by volunteering, distributing complimentary hot coffee and hot chocolate, and providing direct grants totaling $70,000 to 17 regional Polar Plunge events in 2025.
The Wawa Community Care Van will be making its first stops in the Midwest to support the Plunges, and said it is encouraging communities like Louisville to support Special Olympics athletes.
