This Mother’s Day, treat your mom to a gift she really, really won’t expect: a “buckquet” (buck-kay)  of flowers and fried chicken… together.

Yes, this is a thing. KFC recently announced in a press release that they’re running a limited-time promo for Mother’s Day called the “Kentucky Fried Buckquet,” which is literally a bouquet of 12 fresh roses from Proflowers, plus eight skewers, a glass vase, a KFC applique and a card. You have to order the fried chicken separately.

The promo will run from May 1-3, and Mother’s Day is on May 8, but you can preorder supplies now. To receive your “Buckquet,” do the following:

  1.  Apologize in advance to your mom
  2.  Preorder a KFC Sides Lovers Meal on the KFC app or website
  3.  Receive a promo code for your Buckquet via email
  4.  Schedule the home delivery of your floral supplies (May 3-6 only)
  5.  Assemble your Buckquet
  6.  Ask yourself why this even exists

The press release describes the Buckquet as “part fried chicken, part fresh flowers and altogether amazing” and something that “will truly make mom want to stop and smell the fried chicken and roses this Mother’s Day.”

However, 100% of the moms LEO surveyed about this (namely, my own) disagreed with that sentiment. We’ll just stick to regular flowers, thanks.
