What better way to celebrate Mardi Gras than with food, music, community, and fun?

On March 4 from 5:30-7:30, Highland Community Ministries Campus is bringing you the 7th annual “A Taste of the Highlands,” this time with Fat Tuesday flair! The fundraiser impacts those with housing and nourishment needs in the Highlands community, so you’ll know you’re helping out your neighbors. Proceeds from the event will directly support Highlands Community Ministries, which provided 7,964 units of service in 2024, including food pantry visits, holiday assistance, and utility and rent support, per a press release.

In addition to festive New Orleans-style jazz music from Billy Goat Strut Review, several Bardstown Road restaurants plan to attend, including Big Bad Breakfast, Bristol Bar & Grille, The Cafe, DiOrio’s Pizza, El Mundo, Jack Fry’s, Kizito Cookies, Mark’s Feed Store, Morris Deli, Noche Mexican BBQ, O’Shea’s, Paseo, Wiltshire Bakery & Cafe, and Ramsi’s Cafe on the World. Beverage-focused spots such as Limestone Branch Distillery, Falls City Brewing, Old 502 Winery will also be available for your enjoyment. A dance floor completes this vibrant event, with Jared Foos of Nolia Noon as the opening act.

With a $60 ticket, you’ll have unlimited food and beverage tastings, and for $15 more, can partake in a VIP Bourbon Tasting guided by a Limestone Branch Distillery ambassador. There is limited space for the tasting, and guests must be at least 21 years old.

Tickets can be purchased here, and visit hcmlouisville.org to learn more about Highlands Community Ministries.
