Just a couple months after opening its first Louisville location, Big Bad Breakfast has announced plans to bring yet another location to the city — this one in a historic East End location.

The second Big Bad Breakfast is planned for what was once Corbett’s: An American Place, at 5050 Norton Healthcare Boulevard near the East End Costco and Cabela’s. Corbett’s closed in 2017 after 10 years in business. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is also known as the Von Allmen Dairy Farmhouse.

“It is fitting that our second location will be in an iconic property such as Corbett’s: An American Place,” said Steve Ritchie, founder and CEO of Endeavor Restaurant Group, in a statement. “Dean Corbett was a talented chef, successful restaurateur, and pioneer in the farm-to-table movement. It is because of folks like Lynne Winter and Dean that we have such a thriving culinary community.” 

Lynn Winter was the owner of the now-closed Lynn’s Paradise Café, where Louisville’s first Big Bad Breakfast opened. 

Ritchie added that it will be “a lot of fun” to operate a breakfast/lunch concept out of an old farmhouse.

Big Bad Breakfast opened its first Louisville location in February. It is a chain started by the James Beard award-winning chef John Currence.
