We all know what time it is. For folks headed to the Kentucky Derby Festival, one of the most iconic spots is the Chow Wagon, with its signature foods and live shows, it’s always the spot you don’t want to miss.

Here are our picks for what to eat at the Chow Wagon at the 2024 Kentucky Derby Festival.

Funnel Cake For all our sweet tooths out there, the funnel cake is a delicious and no-so-nutritious dish that may leave you with a tummy ache. But it feels so good to eat in the moment. The Chow Wagon is practically a mini vacation, so the calories don’t count anyway. Manisha B. | Flickr
Turkey Drumstick Probably one of, if not the staple of the Chow Wagon is the signature Turkey Leg. Though it’s one of the priciest items on the menu, the turkey leg is easy to carry and even tastier to eat. Don’t forget to munch down on this classic while you’re at the festival this year. markni123 | Flickr
Elephant Ears Another delectable, carb-loaded dish for the dough defenders, elephant ears are a perfect change of pace from funnel cake if you’re looking for that crispy and sweet taste of the Chow Wagon. beaurabbit | Flickr
Italian Sausage The protein train is here to stay with the italian sausage. Just the perfect juicy meat for an afternoon of fun. If you’re not feeling the drumstick, the italian sausage may be the move. Sean | Flickr
Philly Steak We get it. The turkey drumstick and the sausage are just a little too much. Here’s an alternative that promises to be packed with flavor while down at the Chow Wagon. Don’t forget to savor each bite, it’ll be gone before you know it. jwalsh | Flickr
The Chow Wagon only comes along once every year to Fest-a-Ville. See which foods we chose to snag this year. Emily H. | Yelp
