PNC Broadway in Louisville has announced that the critically acclaimed Broadway musical Water for Elephants will take the stage at The Kentucky Center from October 14–19, 2025.

Based on Sara Gruen’s beloved novel, the show follows the journey of a young man who, after losing everything, leaps aboard a moving train and joins a traveling circus. His story, told through the eyes of his older self.

Hailed as a Critic’s Pick by The New York Times, the production features a book by three-time Tony Award nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), a score by PigPen Theatre Co., and original direction by Tony Award nominee Jessica Stone. The show’s design blends music, theater, and circus artistry, creating what critics have described as “a gorgeously imaginative Broadway musical.”

The production has already garnered numerous honors, including Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Direction, Sound Design, Fight Choreography, and Puppetry, as well as Chita Rivera Awards for choreography and dance.

Tickets for Water for Elephants are available now at BroadwayInLouisville.com.
