Art news Louisville Visual Art and Kroger have announced a mural program with Louisville artists Ashley Brossart, Carrie Neumayer and Clare Hirn. Each mural will be located in the café section at Prospect, Springhurst and Middletown, and in the produce area at the Highlands store. The committee selected Ashley Brossart for the Prospect store, Carrie Neumayer for the Middletown location and Clare Hirn for two stores Springhurst and the Highlands neighborhood (louisvillevisualart.org).
On Tuesday, June 30, the Carnegie Center for Art and History, 201 E. Spring St. in New Albany, will welcome environmental artist Neil Goss for an all-day free public art making event from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., followed by an artist talk, Live and Dye Naturally from 6-7 p.m. in the Centers conference room. Anyone is welcome to participate in creating a temporary, site-specific artwork with Goss on the grounds of the Carnegie Center. No prior experience with making art is necessary. Participants will have the opportunity to create a medicinal totem and energy-filtering spider webs, forms the artist enjoys working with. Participants will also have the chance to try backstrap weaving, and discuss natural dyeing, herbal medicine and environmental art (carnegiecenter.org).

Top art events The global arts network Beaded Treasures Project is hosting an event on Thursday, June from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Asia Institute-Crane House, 1244 S. Third St. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the program and get Beaded Treasures Project updates while enjoying chai tea and snacks provided by Gourmet Treasures.
