Art news The Speed Art Museum is has announced that local restaurateur, Susan Hershberg, will open Wiltshire at the Speed when the museum reopens on March 12 (speedmuseum.org).

Block Party Handmade Boutique has opened a second location at 2916 Frankfort Ave. near the corner of Frankfort and Stilz. Artists operate their own boutique space within the shop where they can merchandise and sell their work. The downtown location on Fourth St. near Chestnut features over 60 artists, most of them local to Louisville and Southern Indiana. The Frankfort Avenue location features 35 artists (blockpartyhandmade.com).

The Arts Council of Southern Indiana is holding its annual fundraiser and artist showcase Bourbon, Beer & BBQ on Friday, Aug. 28 from 6-10 p.m. Individual tickets are $40 and include dinner and two tastings. Tickets can be purchased by calling 812-949-4238 (artscouncilsi.org).

The Weber Gallery, Council on Developmental Disabilities, 1151 S. Fourth St., is presenting “Do You See What I See? A Mirror into Myself,” a mixed-media workshop with Cindy Trujillo on Saturday, Aug. 29. Workshop participants will explore themes of self, identity, and memory using a wide variety of 2D and 3D materials. The workshop is free and open to individuals regardless of disability. The next P.A.I.N.T. Program, part of the Center for Neighborhoods, is about to start. To be eligible to participate, you must attend a mandatory workshop scheduled on Saturday, Aug. 29 at the McMahan Fire Station, 4318 Taylorsville Road, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (centerforneighborhoods.org).

Carole Logan is the August artist of the month at Gallery 104, Arts Association of Oldham County, 104 E. Main St., La Grange (aaooc.org).
